Berghain: Techno with a Pinch of the Downright Ridiculous...

For many music lovers & dreamers, the dream is to get inside one of the worlds most illusive nightclubs. The infamous Berghain. What lengths would you go to in order to get a taste of the sunrise in PBar, or to be at the front of the warehouse during a 6hr Surgeon set?

Having recently spent a year in Berlin I discovered many things... club mate, the joy of records, and clubbing on a Sunday morning.

Sterac: The Klockworks Debut

When one thinks of Klockworks, main room, minimal techno comes to mind, and Steve Rachmad's latest release doesn't fail to deliver.

Steve Rachmad may not sound familiar to you but that's only because he's a man of many monikers. The Dutch born legend has made tracks as Sterac, Sterac Electronics, Parallel 9, Tons Of Tones, Esteban del Monte, and Ignacio... there's more of course but I think you get the idea, he's good at what he does.

Record Digging: Eric Cloutier

Eric Cloutier has been known as a true selector for almost two decades now, and has learnt how to craft his DJ sets to absolute perfection. So it comes as no suprise that the Detroit-born, & Berlin-based artist holds residencies at some of the most esteemed clubs across Europe and the United States. His focus is orientated on hypnotic dub, techno, and house music, and it appears that there is just no such thing as filler when it comes to Cloutier's choices...

Record Digging: Lee Kelly

Man about town, Lee Kelly, has been DJing around Dublin for several years and is one of POGO's (Every Saturday at The Twisted Pepper) most reliable residents. (Because he runs it!) He spoke to us about the records that get him through almost every occasion.

Record Digging: Shane Linehan

Up next in our Record Digging series is Basic Grooves own Shane Linehan. Arriving on the scene in the mid 2000s, and having cut his teeth spinning on pirate radio and running gigs in Cork and Limerick, Shane Linehan is today an established DJ, producer and label head of Basic Grooves recordings...

Record Digging: Costelloe

Costelloe is the guise of Greystones techno enthusiast, Aaron Costelloe,(ironically!) and label head of Dublin based Signal Code Records, which has been going from strength to strength for the past three years...We caught up with him ahead of his set at Life Festival this weekend and asked him about a few of his favourite tunes to dig out for certain occasions.

[[ Elektrobank Guest Mix #01: Costelloe ]]

What is hopefully the first of many is our very first guest mix from Costelloe a.k.a. Subsignal.
Some of you may remember that I mentioned Signal Code Records a couple of months back? (...)
Their fifth release, an EP from the main man himself just hit the decks last week, you can pre-order a copy here as well as from a few other outlets!

'Classic Detroit Techno at its finest given a Chicago twist by Nick Simoncino and Slowburn. Label Boss Costelloe supplied the first two Basic Channel style cuts on the local label under the alias ‘Subsignal’ and has provided here two cuts of classic Detroit. Included on the release is a remix by much talked about producer, Nick Anthony ‘Simoncino’, putting his classic Chicago style signature down alongside Costelloe’s spacey Detroit cuts. Simoncino has racked up an impressive string of releases on top labels such as L.I.E.S., Aesthetic Audio,
